Our Environment

Our environments are beautiful, inviting, and thoughtfully arranged. Natural lighting, soft colours, and uncluttered spaces set the stage for activity that is focused and calm. Learning materials are displayed on accessible shelves, fostering independence. Everything is where it is supposed to be, which conveys a sense of harmony, order and stability that both comforts and inspires. All our Montessori classrooms have their own outdoor working environments.

A Montessori classroom, also known as a prepared environment, is designed to support children's learning through curiosity, stability, and freedom of choice. Some common features of a Montessori classroom are :

• Child-sized : Furniture, tables, chairs, shelves, and artwork are all sized for children.
• Natural materials : Wooden furniture, glass jars, metal tools, and cloth napkins are preferred over plastic.
• Open space : There is plenty of open space for children to move around and sit together.
• Low shelves : Low shelves are easily accessible to children and form different activity areas.
• Natural light : Low windows allow natural light to come through, and classrooms often use natural lighting instead of fluorescent lighting.
• Plants : Many classrooms have plants for plant care.
• Neutral colors : The walls are usually neutral in color.
• Real-life pictures : There are a few interesting, real-life pictures placed at the children's eye level.
• Minimal wall decor : Wall decor is minimal and any decorations are simple and serve a purpose.
• Order, cleanliness and beauty : The classroom is always orderly, clean, and beautiful.
• Storage : There are places for children to store personal items and projects.
